Garlic Burgers with Tangy Onions


1 large red onion, thinly sliced
1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup NAKANO Natural Rice Vinegar
1 1/3 lbs. ground beef
4 large garlic cloves, finely minced
4 slices Cheddar, Swiss, or jack cheese (optional)
4 hamburger buns, toasted
Salt, pepper


In a large skillet, cook and stir onion in the oil with 1/8 teaspoon each salt and pepper over medium heat until soft, about 10 minutes; add rice vinegar. Cook until vinegar evaporates; set aside.

In a large bowl, mix together beef, garlic, 3/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper; shape into patties. Grill or pan-fry burgers in a non-stick skillet 3 to 5 minutes per side or until done.

Top burgers with cheese, if desired. Serve on buns with the onions and condiments, as desired.
